SOCIAL MEDIA REPORTER

The Office of Leadership Education and Development (LEAD) is seeking a creative and motivated on the ground social media reporter to support our growing social media channels, including Facebook, X, Instagram, Snapchat, LinkedIn, and YouTube.  The Social Media Reporter works with LEAD staff to assist in developing and implementing an overall social media strategy and content calendar for LEAD programs and events. Additionally, the Social Media Reporter is expected to attend various LEAD programs and events throughout the academic year.

Successful candidates for this role will…

  • Possess expertise and active engagement with two or more digital media platforms (Facebook, X, Instagram, Snapchat, LinkedIn and YouTube)
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Canva with a willingness to learn Adobe Express
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Independent, self-starter with good problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to collaborate with a team
  • Creative, innovative, and resourceful
  • Experience with video editing a plus

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create Compelling Content: Develop feature articles, event materials, campaigns, and promotions for social media platforms to increase visibility and traffic
  • Engage the GT Community: Craft social media strategies to interact with the GT student community on leadership topics.
  • Design Engaging Graphics: Create visuals that inspire students to act.
  • Boost Awareness: Attend signature events and post live updates to increase awareness around LEAD program activities.
  • Measure Impact: Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of social media campaigns and make recommendations for improvement to campaigns as well as website.

Duration: Fall 2024 (with possibility of continuing to subsequent semesters)

Commitment: 8-10 hours per week. Flexible scheduling Monday through Friday with some evening and weekend hour requirements based on event and program schedules

Competitive Pay: Starting at $12/hour

RECRUITMENT AND EVENT COORDINATOR

The Office of Leadership Education and Development (LEAD) is seeking a creative and motivated student assistant to support our program recruitment and events.  The Recruitment and Event Coordinator works with LEAD staff to assist in developing and implementing an overall recruitment and event management strategy for LEAD programs and events. Additionally, the Student Assistant is expected to attend various LEAD programs and events throughout the academic year.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan and Execute Events: Organize, coordinate and monitor LEAD events, ensuring a seamless experience for participants.
  • Engage with Stakeholders: Interface with various GT constituents (students, faculty, staff, alumni) to promote events and ensure participation.
  • Develop Event Materials: Create promotional materials that attract and engage students, faculty and staff
  • Increase Visibility: Boost awareness and attendance at LEAD events through innovative engagement strategies.
  • Collaborate with Our Team: Work closely with LEAD staff and recruitment team (meets bi-weekly) to assess where we are, where we need to be, and assist with implementation of AY24-25 recruitment plan. Perform other tasks as assigned
